GIRLS WRESTLING

ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS OF GREATNESS

Wrestling will give you the tools to push yourself farther than you ever thought you could go.  Pictured above is (L to R) WRHS Manager Ghana is with Megan in the front of Silver Spurs Stadium before Megan placed 2nd in the 1st Girls FHSAA State wrestling tournament.  On the right is former Penn State wrestling Coach and US Olympic Champion Ken Chertow.  One is a past Olympic Champion and one is a potential FUTURE Olympic Champion.

GOING TO STATES

Wrestling changes lives.  There is something very inherently unique about wrestling that not only develops a persons character but in many cases changes their character; for the better.  They develop a sense of respect for themselves and for others.  They learn humility and how to be humble.  The change in each athlete is remarkable.  You cannot buy it and it MUST be earned.  It can only be purchased with hours of blood, sweat and for some, many tears.  It is the sweat equity and the value contained therein that will be worth its weight in gold the athletes will value for the rest of their lives.

A BADGE OF HONOR

Black eyes, bloody noses, sprained ankles and bloody lips...yes..its all a part of it!  However, its not really that common.  Despite what you may hear, wrestling is actually one of the safest of all high schools sports.  In fact, most injuries in wrestling actually occur during training sessions and NOT in actual competitions.  Unlike most other sports, wrestling is the ONLY sport that has the highest referee to athlete ratio.  There is 1 referee per two athletes.  And in the higher level competitions, there are two referees per two athletes or a 1:1 ratio.  Statistically, you are MORE LIKELY to get hurt playing soccer or basketball than wrestling.  And THAT IS A FACT!

WRESTLE LIKE A GIRL

A Warrior Rising

Find your inner strength, your inner warrior!  You can develop those warrior skills through hard work and discipline.  YOU CAN DO IT!

Because Girls Can Do Anything!

Its true!  Girls CAN DO anything and wrestling will give you the confidence to accomplish ANYTHING you put your mind to.

Cultivating the Whole Athlete in the Developmental Process

Wrestling develops the entire athlete on and off the mat.  It builds character, leadership and other soft skills that other sports try to build and emulate.  Yet no other sport can even come close in matching the awesome camaraderie and esprit de corps wrestling builds within its sisterhood. Come and experience it for yourself!
